Abstract
► Sm3+ and Dy3+ ions activated Sr5SiO4Cl6 phosphors have been synthesized by modified solid state method. ► Emission of Sr5SiO4Cl6:Dy3+ phosphors at 475 nm (blue) and 575 nm (yellow). ► Optimum concentration of Dy3+ was 0.5 mol% and Sm3+ was 1.0 mol% due to concretion quenching effect. ► Prepared phosphor may be applicable for long lasting phosphors. ► Materials characterized by X-ray diffraction.
