Abstract
⺠Strontium lithium bismuth borate glasses (SLBiB) doped with different concentrations of dysprosium ion were synthesized by the melt quenching method. ⺠Judd-Ofelt parameters Ωλ (λ=2, 4 and 6) for studied glasses are reported and these are compared with other glass matrices. ⺠The intensity of emission spectra increases up to 0.5 mol% of Dy3+ ions' concentration and then decreases. ⺠Among the three emission transitions, 4F9/2â6H13/2 shows higher emission cross-section in all five Dy3+ doped glasses. ⺠Decay profiles for the 4F9/2 luminescent level are exponential for lower concentrations up to 1.0 mol% of Dy3+ ion.
