Abstract
► NAE12-4-12 is a newly synthesized cationic gemini surfactant. ► It effectively reduces intrinsic fluorescence of BSA through static quenching. ► Binding constant of NAE12-4-12-BSA decreases with rising temperature. ► Distance between BSA and NAE12-4-12 diminishes with NAE12-4-12 concentration. ► Content of α-helix of BAS decreases while those of other structures rise up.
