Abstract
⺠Strontium tetraborate stabilizes divalent samarium. ⺠Temperature dependent Sm2+ luminescence. ⺠Sm2+ degeneracy is removed in low symmetry site. ⺠Well resolved emission of Sm2+ under UV excitation.
