Abstract
⺠Eu2+:BaSi2O5 glass-ceramics was prepared by crystallizing Eu3+:barium-silicate glass. ⺠Static and time-resolved luminescence measurements conducted. ⺠Eu2+ formed and incorporated into BaSi2O5 crystallites. ⺠Eu2+ luminescence increases dramatically if monoclinic BaSi2O5 is formed. ⺠Eu3+ ions remain in amorphous phase.
