Abstract
► We describe a simple growth-doping approach for aqueous synthesis of Cu:ZnSe d-dots. ► The emission of Cu:ZnSe shifts from 465 to 495 nm with the prolonged reflux. ► As compared with cadmium-based nanocrystals, Cu:ZnSe d-dots have much lower toxicity. ► Cu:ZnSe d-dots can be utilized in the fields of multiform biomedical applications.
