Abstract
► The structural modification to receptor architecture alters metal ion selective fluorescence enhancement. ► The selectivity modulates as a function of varied stereo-electronic conditions. ► The amino-ethyl-amino receptor based probe 3 exhibits fluorescence enhancement selectively with Zn(II). ► Probe 4 with an amino-ethyl-oxy-(phenyl methyl)-amino receptor does not exhibit selectivity.
