Abstract
Different C60 aggregates, i.e. nanoparticles, clusters of nanoparticles and microcrystals in room-temperature solutions, are reported to account for the colors of fluorescence emissions centered at 440, 575 and 700 nm, respectively. And the configurations of C60 aggregation created in solutions are revealed to be closely associated with the characteristic interactions between C60 and solvent molecules. On this basis, aggregation behaviors and thus induced optical properties of C60 have been tentatively controlled through adopting solvent mixtures.
