Achieving high spatial resolution and high SNR in low-field MRI of hyperpolarised gases with Slow Low Angle SHot

► A Slow Low Angle SHot (SLASH) MRI scheme reduces diffusion-induced image attenuation. ► SLASH MRI of hyperpolarised gas yields high resolution and high SNR. ► SLASH acquisition alleviates concomitant gradient artefacts in low field MRI. ► SLASH is thus a valuable scheme for He3 or Xe129 lung MRI, especially at low field.
