Abstract
► The mutual inductance of planar NMR phased arrays is theoretically investigated. ► Use of copper paddle end-rings is proposed to minimize mutual coil inductance. ► The paddle effects on the array's B1 response are investigated with simulations. ► Experimental findings on a two- and a four-coil 4 × 4 cm2 array validate the paddle effects.
