Abstract
⺠Applying a long pulse in DEPTH suppresses residual background from strong B1 fields. ⺠Mechanism: coherence dephasing in nutation frame via B1 field inhomogeneity. ⺠Weak internal spin interactions required to attain efficient and uniform excitation. ⺠Readily combined with spin-echo based sequences, such as REDOR and TRAPDOR.
