Abstract
The electrical conductance of lanthanum chloride was measured in water and 50% (DMF-H2O) at different temperatures. The limiting molar conductance (Î0) and the association constant (KA) were estimated by the use of Fuoss-Hsia-Fernández-Prini (FHFP) and Fuoss-Shedlovsky models. The standard thermodynamic parameters for association (ÎG°A, ÎH°A and ÎS°A), Walden product (Î0 η0), hydrodynamic radii (RH) and the energy of activation (Ea.) were calculated for the above rare earth chloride. These different physical parameters for lanthanum chloride were estimated and compared terms of solvent percentage over a wide temperature range.
