Abstract
Magnetic nanoparticles of Mn1âxMgxFe2O4; (0 â¤Â x â¤Â 0.7); were successfully prepared using co-precipitation assisted microwave method. The samples were crystallized in cubic form with spinel structure. The calculated values of the unit cell volume as well as the porosity increased with increasing Mg content. The photocatalytic activity was investigated from the degradation of methylene blue and found to decrease with increasing Mg content the spinel nanoferrite. The results of degradation were interpreted depending on the Mg content, particle size and specific surface area.
