Abstract
The solute-solvent interactions in the studied aqueous ternary systems containing some amino acids (Glycine or l-serine) and ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate [Bmim][BF4]) are studied by using the volumetric properties data. These properties contains: apparent molar volumes, standard partial molar volumes, limiting partial molar volumes of transfer, apparent molar expansibility and hydration number. VÏ values were increased when rising concentration of amino acids and also temperature while decreased by increasing concentration of ionic liquid. Apparent molar volumes of transfer, ÎVÏ0, for studied amino acids from water to aqueous solutions of ionic liquid (IL) are calculated. The limiting partial molar volumes of transfer ÎtVÏ0 values were negative. Results confirmed the dominance of hydrophobic-hydrophobic interactions in both ternary solutions.
