Abstract
At ambient conditions and high MF5 (MÂ =Â Ta, Nb) concentration, a strong deviation from the expected stoichiometry in the near surface region was observed, obviously caused by chemical reactions of the IL/salt system with the atmospheric environment. It is expected, that these reactions have also impact on the quality of electrodeposited metal films from these solutions.
