Abstract
In this analysis Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is utilized to explore the heat transfer characteristics in Sisko fluid past a permeable non-linearly stretching cylinder. This model appears to be a modified form of the classical Fourier's law when the intriguing aspects of thermal relaxation time are also included. Similarity approach is utilized to reduce the governing boundary layer partial differential equations into the local-similar ordinary differential equations which are further solved numerically by employing shooting technique. A comparison of these results with those of obtained analytically by the homotopy analysis method (HAM) affirmed their validity. Results are discussed graphically in length and interestingly it is found that thermal relaxation time diminishes the temperature profile.
