Abstract
The observed changes in log (k/sâ 1) for the hydrolysis of tropolone tosylate in 50% (v/v) MeCN-H2O media in the presence of various kinds of salts are significant. Both NaN3 (â¼) and Ba(ClO4)2 (â) have exhibited a remarkable and apparently linear rate acceleration, while both Ca(ClO4)2 (â²) and LiClO4 (â) caused rate deceleration.
