Abstract
Apparent molar volumes, VÏ, apparent molar isentropic compressibilities, Ks,Φ, and relative viscosities, ηr, for l-serine and l-threonine in aqueous solutions of 1-carboxymethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, [HOOCMMIM][Cl], and also aqueous solutions of [HOOCMMIM][Cl] have been obtained from solution density, sound velocity and viscosity measurements at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. These data are used to derive the standard partial molar volumes, VÏ0, hydration number, (nH), standard partial molar isentropic compressibilities, Ks,Φ0, and viscosity B-coefficients of l-serine and l-threonine in aqueous [HOOCMMIM][Cl] solutions and for [HOOCMMIM][Cl] in water. The corresponding quantities of transfer from water to aqueous solutions of [HOOCMMIM][Cl], (ÎVÏ0,ÎKS,Φ0,ÎB), have also been obtained. The trends of transfer volumes have been interpreted by cosphere overlap model.
