Abstract
A new ionic liquid (1, 3-dihexyl-2-(phenylthio)-1H-benzo[d]imidazol-3-ium iodide) was synthesized, characterized (experimentally and theoretically) and used as an electrolyte for dye-sensitized solar cells.
