Abstract
The solubility of light reservoir components, HCFCs and HFCs containing methane, ethane, propane, n-butane, i-butane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen sulfide, chlorodifluoromethane (R22), trifluoromethane (R23), difluoromethane (R32), 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoroethane (R125), 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R134a) and 1,1-difluoroethane (R152a) in water was modeled. The cubic-plus-association equation of state (CPA EOS) and simplified Perturbation Chain Statistical Association Fluid Theory equation of state (sPC-SAFT EOS) are used to calculate the phase equilibrium for these aqueous mixtures. First, the pure component parameters of the CPA and sPC-SAFT EOSs are determined. Also, the simplified hard-sphere radial distribution is applied for CPA EOS. Then, the temperature dependant and independent binary interaction parameters of these systems are correlated, taking advantage of the well described phase equilibrium. The solubilities determined by the CPA and sPC-SAFT EOSs with the temperature dependant binary interaction parameters agree well with experimental data for these systems (overall AAD ~ 3.56 and 3.05 CPA and sPC-SAFT EOSs, respectively).
