Determination of critical micelle concentration of polybutadiene-block-poly(ethyleneoxide) diblock copolymer by fluorescence spectroscopy and dynamic light scattering

► The cmc of PB-b-PEO block copolymer was determined by DLS and fluorescence spectroscopy. ► The cmc was estimated by these methods as 6 ± 2 × 10− 7 and 3 ± 1 × 10− 7 mol/L, respectively. ► DLS is as sensitive as fluorescence spectroscopy for determining the cmc of a copolymer. ► DLS is suitable for the simultaneous determination of cmc and size of copolymer micelles. ► DLS was used for the first time for this aim.
