Abstract
⺠Ground and excited state dipole moments have been calculated using quantum chemical calculations. ⺠Solvatochromic shift method is used to estimate the ground and excited state dipole moments. ⺠Both, experimentally and theoretically, higher values of dipole moment have been observed for excited state. ⺠Higher values of dipole moment are attributed to more polar excited states of molecules.
