A highly sensitive and selective method for dopamine detection based on poly (folic acid) film modified electrode

► Eletrochemical polymerization of folic acid on the carbon paste electrode surface by cyclic voltammetry. ► The polymer film had excellent electrochemical catalytic activity towards dopamine. ► The electrochemical behavior of dopamine was studied. ► The interferences of ascorbic acid and uric acid on dopamine determination were eliminated. ► The leaner range of dopamine determination was 1.0 × 10− 3-2.5 × 10− 8 mol L− 1 with a detection limit of 8 × 10− 9 mol L− 1.
