Abstract
⺠The chemical stability of supported ILs was studied before application as catalysts. ⺠Carbons with differences in textural and chemical surface properties were prepared. ⺠Choline-based ILs (anion: [Ala],[Ser],[Pro],[MeSO3],[2-MeBu]) were supported on carbons. ⺠Carbon surface oxygen groups and IL anion composition strongly influence on chemical stability. ⺠A lower support surface area and a pure carbon surface significantly increases chemical stability.
