Abstract
⺠Dipole moments for 1 and 2-naphthols are estimated from solvatochromic shift. ⺠For 1-naphthol, the values in aprotic solvents are much less than those in presence of protic solvents. ⺠The study underlines the presence of specific interaction in protic solvents.
