Abstract
⺠The fullerene hydrosols exhibit all features of hydrophobic dispersions. ⺠In polar organic solvents, the fullerenes form typical organosols. ⺠Solvophobic solvation of fullerene molecules takes place even in “good” solvents. ⺠The C60 and C70 molecules can be considered as colloidal (or sub-colloidal) species, inclined to aggregate formation. ⺠The solvophobic effect and the van-der-Waals attraction are driving forces of permanent (though sometimes very slow) aggregate formation.
