Abstract
⺠Excess molar volumes, VE and speeds of sound, u of 1-methyl pyrrolidin-2-one (i) + benzene or methyl benzene or cyclohexane (j) + propan-1-ol (k) ternary mixtures have been measured over entire composition range at 308.15 K. ⺠The speeds of sound values have been employed to determine excess isentropic compressibilities, κSE. ⺠The observed VE and κSE data of the various mixtures have been analyzed in terms of (a) Graph theory and Prigogine-Flory-Patterson (PFP) theory. ⺠The VE and κSE values predicted by Graph theory compare well with their corresponding experimental values.
