Abstract
⺠Limiting partial molar volume of H2O or D2O in propylene carbonate (PC) at T >293.15 K is higher than the molar volume of water isotopologue. ⺠Water â PC affinity prevails over the affinity of solvent molecules to each other, especially, in the solution of D2O in PC. ⺠WaterâPC affinity prevails over the affinity of solvent molecules to each other. This tendency becomes more pronounced in the solution of heavy water in PC. ⺠Excess molar volumes of (water + PC) undergo the negative-to-positive sign inversion with increasing temperature.
