Abstract
An attempt to find a measure of the contribution of the specific interactions to the partial molar volumes of primary, secondary and tertiary amines in 1-butanol and 2-butanol was made using Terasawa model, hard-sphere theory (HST) and scaled particle theory (SPT). The ERAS model has also been applied to estimate apparent molar volumes, and excess apparent molar volumes of alkylamine solutions in 1-butanol and 2-butanol. The results agree well in the different approaches used.
