Abstract
A series of novel disperse azo dyes based on 2-anilinoethanol were synthesized using aniline derivatives as diazo components. These dyes have been characterized by melting points, FT-IR and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The effect of pH variation and solvents polarity on the absorption spectra was examined and a meaningful correlation observed. Also, the effects of substituent with electron-withdrawing and electron-donating groups at their o-, m-, p-position of phenylazoanilinoethanoles were investigated.
