Abstract
The dielectric relaxation study of acetonitrile(ACN) with chlorobenzene(CBZ) mixture has been carried out at temperatures 15 °C, 25 °C, 35 °C and 45 °C in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 20 GHz using time domain reflectometry (TDR) for 11 different concentrations of the system. The dielectric parameters such as static dielectric constant (ε0) and relaxation time (Ï) have been obtained by Fourier transform and the least squares fit method. Excess properties and Kirkwood correlation factor of the mixtures have been determined. In the mixtures excess permittivity and inverse relaxation time are found to be negative. The static dielectric constants for the mixtures have been fitted with the modified Bruggeman model. The investigation shows that there is a systematic change in dielectric parameters of the system with change in concentration and temperature. The activation energies in the mixture are also determined.
