Abstract
The radial diffusion in a cylinder of radius R is described using time-fractional diffusion equation. The Caputo fractional derivative is used. The solution is obtained using the Laplace and finite Hankel transforms. The paper develops and improves the results of Narahari Achar and Hanneken, J. Molecular Liquids 114 (2004) 147-151. The distinction between subdiffusion and superdiffusion is discussed.
