Abstract
Series of 2,6-diaryl-4-piperidones were prepared. The infrared spectra of substituted piperidones in carbon tetrachloride were recorded in the range of 4000-400 cmâ 1. The tentative assignment of the vibrational frequencies of these compounds is made and compared with those reported in literature. The spectral shifts and intensity changes observed are explained in relation to the influence of the substituents.
