Abstract
Excess refraction properties of five hydroxamic acids have been computed at 303.15 and 313.15 K, on the basis of refractive index and density data of these molecules. The other related properties, molar volume, molar refractions and polarizabilities have also been reported. Density and refractive index have been determined as a function of their concentration in acetone : water mixture at two temperatures. The results have been interpreted in terms of the nature of specific intermolecular interactions between the components.
