Abstract
Dielectric constant of binary mixtures of di-isobutyl ketone with aliphatic alcohols, namely 1-pentanol, 1-butanol and 1-propanol, is measured at radio frequency 455 kHz and temperature 303.16 K. The data are used to compute mutual correlation factor (gab), excess molar polarization (ÎP) and excess Gibb's free energy (ÎG) in the polar-polar system, with a view to assessing the suitability of alcohol as a modifier.
