Abstract
High-resolution spectra of SrOD have been recorded using optical-optical double-resonance spectroscopy and laser excitation spectroscopy. SrOD was produced by the reaction of Sr metal vapor and D2O vapor in a Broida-type oven. The 000 bands of the AË2Î -XË2Σ+ and CË2Î -AË2Î transitions were observed and rotationally analyzed for the first time. Combined with the previous microwave data from the literature, the present data were fitted using the usual 2Σ+ and 2Î Hamiltonians, and spectroscopic constants were obtained for the XË2Σ+ (000), Ã2Î (000) and CË2Î (000) states of SrOD. An unusually small OH bond length was obtained for the CË2Î state, perhaps indicating that the CË2Î state of SrOH has a floppy potential similar to the ground state of MgOH.
