Abstract
High-resolution spectra of SrOD have been recorded using optical-optical double-resonance spectroscopy and laser excitation spectroscopy. SrOD was produced by the reaction of Sr metal vapor and D2O vapor in a Broida-type oven. The 000 bands of the A˜2Π-X˜2Σ+ and C˜2Π-A˜2Π transitions were observed and rotationally analyzed for the first time. Combined with the previous microwave data from the literature, the present data were fitted using the usual 2Σ+ and 2Π Hamiltonians, and spectroscopic constants were obtained for the X˜2Σ+ (000), Ã2Π (000) and C˜2Π (000) states of SrOD. An unusually small OH bond length was obtained for the C˜2Π state, perhaps indicating that the C˜2Π state of SrOH has a floppy potential similar to the ground state of MgOH.
