Abstract
The in situ STM studies of electrochemically polished Cd(0001) electrode in the H3PO4 aqueous solution have been performed under negative electrode potentials from â 1.4 to â 0.9 V (versus Ag|AgCl in sat. KCl aqueous solution) in the 0.1 M Na2SO4 + 1 Ã 10â 5 M H2SO4 aqueous solution. The atomic resolution parameters of Cd(0001) surface have been calculated. The in situ STM data show that there are no surface reconstruction processes and the surface structure of electrochemically polished Cd(0001) is stable within the potential region investigated.
