Abstract
⺠Experiments show the influence of emitting filaments on the adsorption of S on Au. ⺠A coverage/exposure/AES-intensity chart monitors the succession of the Au-S phases. ⺠A LEED study of the Au(1 Ã 1)-S phase found a 1% expansion of the first Au spacing. ⺠The analysis of the (5 Ã 5) Au-S phase finds 7 S atoms per unit cell, in fcc sites.
