Abstract
⺠We explain the direct physical reasons for the formation of favored sites for QDs. ⺠The potential for the elastic interactions between QDs is the hydrostatic stress. ⺠Long range displacements along hard directions manifest the cubic anisotropy. ⺠They are responsible for the attractive interactions. ⺠A criterion for materials that can induce lateral ordering is suggested.
