Abstract
► Chlorine adsorption induces series of reconstructions on Cu(110). ► Light domain walls separating c(2 × 2) domains were detected at low coverage. ► At coverages above 0.5 ML, the uniaxial compression of chlorine takes place. ► Large chlorine exposure leads to the faceting of the Cu(110) surface.
