Abstract
⺠We grow quasi one-dimensional Co nanowires on the Cu(110)-p(2 Ã 3)N (Cu3N) surface. ⺠We perform scanning tunneling spectroscopy measurements at 7 K on these wires. ⺠We present the first study of the electronic properties of Co wires grown on top of Cu3N. ⺠Spectroscopic features measured on the Co wires and on Cu3N show striking similarities.
