Abstract
⺠γ-Fe2O3 presents two different surface structures, depending on treatment conditions. ⺠These structures are (2 Ã 2) under vacuum annealing and (â3 Ã â3)R30 under oxidative annealing. ⺠We believe that these are due to magnetite(111)-like and hematite(0001)-like terminations.
