Abstract
⺠Ceria maintains its fluorite structure with a submonolayer coverage dose of Ti. ⺠Upon deposition, Ti is oxidized to Ti4 + at the cost of ceria reduction. ⺠Ti-O-Ce linkages are formed at the surface of ceria. ⺠Small features of titania at 300 K can order into the chain structures upon heating.
