Abstract
⺠Nucleation of nonepitaxial Cu2O islands occurs at a critical oxygen pressure. ⺠The critical oxygen pressure depends on the surface orientations of Cu substrates. ⺠Such dependence is ascribed to O surface sticking and diffusion of oxide nucleation.
