Abstract
⺠Cu(110) exposed to R,R-tartaric acid. ⺠Monotartrate and bitartrate phases as previously reported were identified. ⺠O 1s PhD used to determine local adsorption structure of both phases. ⺠monotartrate bonds with carboxylate O atoms in local off-atop sites. ⺠Bitartrate has similar local O site for both carboxylate species.
