Abstract
⺠STM measurements indicate the layer-by-layer growth of Au. ⺠The average diameter of the observed gold islands is about 12±5 nm. ⺠No ordered Au regions were observed. ⺠As the sample is post-annealed to 800 K, Au-Mo surface alloy is formed.
