Abstract
► Preparation of well-ordered iron-molybdate thin films as model catalysts. ► Mo deposition onto Fe3O4(111) thin films as a function of Mo coverage and annealing temperature. ► Mo migration into the film at elevated temperatures, above 900 K. ► The surface undergoes a (√3 × √3)R30° reconstruction. ► The proposed structure includes Fe substitution by Mo in the surface layers.
