Abstract
⺠Au, Ag and Cu nanostructures were prepared on R(15 x 12) and R(15 x 3) C/W(110). ⺠On R(15 x 12) always isotropic clusters are formed. ⺠On R(15 x 3) the anisotropy of the nanostructures is controlled by temperature. ⺠At intermediate temperatures Au deposition induces domain boundaries. ⺠Comparison with Au nanostructures as reported by Varykhalov et al. (Ref 1).
