Abstract
⺠Fast neutral atoms are scattered under grazing angles of incidence from MgO(001). ⺠For axial surface channeling conditions, we observe defined diffraction patterns. ⺠The diffraction patterns are analyzed in terms of trajectory calculations. ⺠Interaction potentials were derived from DFT and from HF wave functions.
