Abstract
► In this study we analyze the displacement field induced by the steps on a Si(7710) surface. ► We determine the Si(7710) surface structure. ► We show that the strain-induced displacement field can be modelized by buried elastic dipoles. ► We obtain the stretch and torque component of the elastic dipole. ► We determine the step-step interaction energy.
